Abstract This Regional Law establishes the main directions of the activity of regional state bodies for ensuring food security. Regional Administration shall ensure to the regional residents physical accessibility to vitally important foodstuffs. Regional state bodies shall ensure compliance of foodstuffs processed, manufactured and traded on the regional territory with the requirements of state system of standards and the necessary production level of foodstuffs. In case of consumption of foodstuffs by citizens below the established minimum nutritional level, with a view of preventing food shortage state bodies shall be authorized to apply for a limited period of time special regimes of food security envisaging rationing of foodstuffs.
