Abstract This Regional Law is aimed at ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population as one of the basic conditions for realization of constitutional rights of citizens to protection of health and favourable environment. Regional executive bodies shall have the following competence: (a) prevention of epidemics and mitigation of the consequences thereof; (b) validation of areas of sanitary protection of waterbodies used for potable water supply and medicinal purposes; (c) prevention and reduction of air pollution; and (d) supervision over food quality and food safety.
