Abstract This Regional Law vests plenary powers of the regional state institutions in the sphere of environmental protection, and establishes basic rights and duties of natural and legal persons in relation to environmental protection. Basic principles of state policy in the sphere of environmental protection shall be as follows: (a) recognition and observance of ecological interests of the future generations; (b) economic stimulation of environmental protection; (c) consideration of environmental risks in the process of planning of economic activities; and (d) availability and access to environmental information. Objects of environmental protection shall be land, subsoil, soil, surface water and groundwater, forests and other vegetation, wild fauna and genetic resources thereof, atmospheric air, ozone layer and open space. Objects of natural and cultural heritage, traditional habitats and sites of traditional community management of indigenous peoples shall be posted under particular protection.
