Abstract This Regional Law regulates legal issues related to state support of reindeer breeding with a view of increasing output of reindeer products. The scope of state support shall be: (a) conservation and promotion of reindeer breeding; (b) raising the number of reindeer stock; and (c) efficient use of pastures for reindeer grazing. State support arrangements shall include: (a) guarantees for purchase of reindeer pedigree stock; (b) research in the sphere of reindeer breeding; and (c) prevention and cure of diseases of reindeer stock.
