Abstract This Regional Law establishes legal grounds for organization of bee raising activity. The scope of this Regional law shall be creation of the conditions for bee raising regarding honey bees (Apis mellifera), use thereof for pollination of agricultural entomophilous plants, obtaining apiculture products, protection of honey bees, improvement of apiculture efficiency and safeguarding rights and legal interests of natural and legal persons carrying out bee raising activity. Bee farmers and bee keepers shall be granted the following rights: (a) obtain state support; (b) obtain veterinary assistance for realization of arrangements for the prevention of bee diseases and pest control; and (c) obtain from state hydrometeorological service reliable information on forecasts of environmental disasters and anomalous weather conditions. Bee keepers must: (a) comply with zootechnical, veterinary and sanitary arrangements related to bee keeping; (b) inform state veterinary institutions of bee diseases or sudden death of bees; and (c) be in possession of veterinary and sanitary certificates, issued by the competent state veterinary and sanitary institution, of apiaries with updated records of veterinary and sanitary state of apiaries (art. 3).
