Abstract This Regional Law regulates relations originating in the process of interaction between society and nature during economic and other activities in relation to environmental impact in order to ensure the right of current and future generations to favourable environment. Basic principles of environmental protection shall be as follows: (a) observance of the right of citizens to favourable environment; (b) responsibility of state bodies and local government for ensuring favourable environment and environmental protection; (c) assumption of ecological risks by any projected economic activity; (d) mandatory environmental audit; and (e) payment of nature management and liability and compensation for environmental damages.
