Abstract The scope of this Regional Law shall be to ensure food security by establishing legal, economic, financial principles and the modalities of formation, distribution and utilization of the regional food reserves. Regional Food Reserves shall be stock of agricultural commodities and foodstuffs required for meeting the demand of population and thus ensuring the required food security level. Formation of the Regional Food Reserve shall be performed for the purpose of: (a) provision of social institutions with agricultural commodities and foodstuffs; (b) guaranteed supply of agricultural commodities and foodstuffs to the population; (c) ensuring state subsidies to the producers of agricultural commodities; and (d) setting up reserve food stock.
