Abstract This Regional Law establishes plenary powers and competence of the authorized Regional state veterinary service as follows: (a) prevention and liquidation of infectious and mass non-infectious animal diseases; (b) safety control of animal products; (c) protection of the population against diseases common to animals and human beings; and (d) protection of the territory against introduction of infectious animal diseases and infected animal products. Organizations and citizens, owners of animals, must provide them with safe fodder and water complying with veterinary and sanitary requirements. Only healthy and safe animals, animal products and raw materials of animal origin shall be authorized for entry on the regional territory. Safety of animal products and raw materials shall be attested by veterinary and sanitary certificate issued by the competent veterinary authority.
