Abstract This Regional Law regulates relations in the field of keeping the regional Red Book for the purpose of protecting and accounting for rare and endangered plants, animals and other organisms living (growing) on the regional territory and listed in the regional Red Book of endangered and protected species, as well as in the field of conservation and restoration of their habitat to maintain biological diversity, create conditions for sustainable existence and conservation of the genetic fund of wild flora and fauna and other forms of protection of the aforesaid species as integral components of the environment. Red Book is an official document containing the following information and data: (a) a summary of information on the state, distribution, protection measures of rare and endangered species (subspecies, populations) of flora and fauna permanently or temporarily living (growing) in natural conditions on the regional territory; and (b) the list of wild fauna and flora requiring special protection.
