Abstract This Regional Law establishes that food security shall be reached through provision of the population with foodstuffs sufficient for meeting the demand of population to the amount and in assortment in compliance with the established nutritional norms required for active and vital activity. The scope of food security shall be to ensure growth of consumption of basic foodstuffs to the recommended consumption levels. Basic principles for ensuring food security shall be equal access of all producers to food market, prevention of reduction of food security level, program approach to food security and openness of information related to the state of food market.
