Abstract This Regional Law establishes legal grounds for raising and keeping of honey bees (Apis mellifera), use thereof for obtaining apiculture products, and also state support of apiculture. Bee raising activity can be carried out by natural persons, legal persons and individual entrepreneurs. Each apiary shall be issued vetrinary and sanitary certificate by state veterinary service. Trade of apiculture products shall be authorized in the presence of veterinary certificate and compliance certificate issued by certification authority, and veterinary and sanitary certificate of apiary (art. 3). Bee farmers shall have the right to place apiaries (bee families) on land plots in their ownership, lease or tenancy (art. 4). Use of bees for pollination of crops with a view of raising crop productivity shall be regulated by contracts concluded by the producers of agricultural commodities and owners of apiaries (art. 6).
