Abstract This Regional Law establishes the modalities of organization of acceptance, storage, processing and shipping of timber, registration and transportation of timber extracted on the regional territory with a view of preventing illegal logging. It shall not be applicable to procurement of timber by citizens for individual personal needs. Basic principles of the regional system of transactions of timber shall be as follows: (a) legality of turnover of timber; (b) openness, transparency and access to information related to amount of extracted timber and qualitative characteristics thereof; and (c) public participation in control over turnover of timber.
