Abstract This Regional Law regulates relations originating in the process of economic and other activities that can have impact on natural environment. Objects of environmental protection shall be: (a) land, soil, subsoil; (b) surface water and groundwater; (c) forests, plants and vegetation, wild fauna, other organisms and genetic fund thereof; and (d) atmospheric air. Regional Government shall have the following competence in the sphere of environmental protection: (a) implementation of the national policy; (b) formation of the regional environmental monitoring system; (c) establishment of regional environmental standards; (d) institution of regional protected areas; (e) environmental planning; and (f) organization and implementation of ecological education.
