Abstract This Regional Law regulates relations originating in the process of bee raising regarding honey bees (Apis mellifera), use thereof for pollination of agricultural entomophilous plants, obtaining apiculture products, protection of honey bees, improvement of apiculture efficiency and safeguarding rights and legal interests of natural and legal persons carrying out bee raising activity. The scope of this Regional Law shall be to meet the demand of population for apiculture products, promotion of processing of apiculture products, conservation of genetic resources of honey bees (art. 4). Apiaries shall be subject to registration and inspection by state veterinary service and the owners of apiaries must comply with the following requirements: (a) be in possession of veterinary certificate attesting veterinary and sanitary well-being of each apiary; and (b) submit annually to state veterinary service the results of laboratory testing of epizootic state of bee families (art. 5). Bee farmers shall have the right to place apiaries (bee families) on land plots in their ownership, lease or tenancy (art. 6). Trade of apiculture products shall be authorized in the presence of veterinary certificate and compliance certificate issued by certification authority, and veterinary and sanitary certificate of apiary (art. 10).
