Abstract The scope of this Regional Law shall be to ensure constitutional right of citizens to favourable environment and protection of public health by protection against ionizing radiation. The main targets of this Regional Law shall be cooperation between state bodies, local government and organizations using sources of ionizing radiation, and cooperation between regional authorities and neighbouring countries for ensuring radiation safety. Radiation safety and environmental security shall be ensured by means of: (a) observance of radiation safety rules and regulations; (b) law enforcement related to radiation safety; (c) public audit of technical projects of construction and re-construction of radiationally hazardous sites; (d) radiation monitoring; and (e) information of the population on radiation levels.
