Abstract The scope of this Regional Law shall be to regulate bee raising and keeping of honey bees (Apis mellifera) on the regional territory. Natural and legal persons, including beekeepers associations, shall be granted the right to carry out entrepreneurial activities in the sphere of bee raising and for personal non-commercial purposes (art. 3). The number of bee families in apiaries owned by natural and legal persons shall not be subject to any limitation (art. 4). Apiaries shall be subject to registration and inspection by state veterinary service and the owners of apiaries must comply with the following requirements: (a) be in possession of veterinary certificate attesting veterinary and sanitary well-being of each apiary; and (b) submit annually to state veterinary service the results of laboratory testing of epizootic state of bee families (art. 5). Bee farmers shall have the right to place apiaries (bee families) on land plots in their ownership, lease or tenancy (art. 6).
