This Regional Law enters into force 10 days after the date of its official publication.
Abstract

This Regional Law, with a view of implementation of the constitutional right of citizens to favorable environment, establishes legal grounds of organization and development of environmental education, environmental awareness and formation of environmental culture in the regional territory, and also determines the powers of the authorized regional state bodies in this field. The main goals of environmental education, awareness and formation of environmental culture on the regional territory are: (a) increasing the environmental culture, the environmental educational level of the regional population, including the improvement of professional skills and knowledge in the field of environmental protection and environmental security; (b) formation of a careful attitude to the nature of the region; and (c) maintaining a favorable environment, biological diversity and natural resources. The main tasks of environmental education, environmental awareness and formation of environmental culture on the regional territory are: (a) creation of a system of universal and comprehensive environmental education, environmental awareness, the formation of environmental culture; (b) involvement of children, youth and adults, including workers of the organizations - users of natural resources, in activities aimed at environmental protection, rational use of natural resources; (c) increasing the role of protected natural areas as environmental education centers; (d) information support of the regional population in the field of nature management, environmental protection and environmental security; (e) involvement of citizens, public associations and non-profit organizations in the participation in the implementation of measures related to environmental protection and rational nature management; and (f) formation of a responsible attitude to waste management, including separate collection of municipal solid waste.
