Abstract This Regional Law establishes legal grounds for organization of bee raising activity. The scope of this Regional law shall be creation of the conditions for bee raising regarding honey bees (Apis mellifera), use thereof for pollination of agricultural entomophilous plants, obtaining apiculture products, protection of honey bees, improvement of apiculture efficiency and safeguarding rights and legal interests of natural and legal persons carrying out bee raising activity (art. 2). Bee farmers shall be authorized to carry out bee raising either for individual personal needs or as entrepreneurial activity. Bee farmers shall have the following rights: (a) place stationary apiaries on land plots in their ownership, lease or tenancy; (b) place mobile apiaries by written consent granted by owners, leaseholders or tenants of agricultural land, forest land or urban land irrespectively of the place of registration of bee families; (c) require state support; (d) obtain veterinary assistance; (e) obtain information of state of environment and risks for bees from state bodies; and (f) set up beekeepers associations (art. 4). The number of bee families shall not be subject to any restriction or limitation on condition of compliance with veterinary and sanitary requirements set for beekeeping (art. 5).
