Abstract This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of potable water supply and establishes state guarantees for provision of the population with qualitative potable water. The scope of this Regional Law shall be to ensure stable and continuing potable water supply and sanitary, engineering and ecological protection of potable water supply sources. Basic principles of potable water supply shall be set forth as follows: (a) priority provision of the population with potable water; (b) accountability of potable water supplying organizations to state executive bodies and local self-government; (c) state control and supervision in the sphere of potable water supply; (d) compliance with standards set for potable water; and (e) registration and payment for potable water supply.
