Abstract This Regional Law establishes the modalities of hunting and capture of wild fauna species non subject to hunting and fisheries, with a view of ensuring rational management and conservation of wild fauna species. It shall not be applicable to wild fauna species subject to hunting and fisheries, protected and endangered species, species populating protected areas and species regulated by international agreements. Wild fauna species can be objects of hunting and capture for scientific research, cultural, educational commercial and other purposes. Hunting and capture practices shall comply with the following requirements: (a) use authorized hunting gear and hunting methods; (b) prevent irreparable damage to natural populations of wild fauna species and natural habitats thereof; (c) selective approach and humane methods of hunting.
