Entry into force notes: This Regional Law enters into force ten days after the date of its official publication.

Abstract: This Regional Law establishes that regional Legislative Assembly shall have the following competence: (a) validation of the modalities and rates of timber extraction by citizens for individual personal needs; (b) collection and harvesting of non-timber edible and non-edible resources by citizens for individual personal needs; and (c) forest management for hunting purposes. Regional executive bodies shall have the following competence: (a) ownership and management of public forest parcels owned by the regional administration; (b) validation of regional forest management plans; (c) afforestation and reforestation arrangements; (d) issuance of timber extraction permits; (e) concession of public forest plots to natural and legal persons on lease for timber extraction and processing; and (e) conclusion of forest lease contracts.
