Abstract The scope of this Regional Law shall be formation of favourable environment, ensuring rational management of natural resources and protection of public health in the interests of the present and the future generations. The purpose of the regional ecological policy shall be conservation of environment for the benefit of future generations, ensuring constitutional rights of citizens to favourable environment, ecological education and integration into international system for conservation of global ecological balance. Basic principles of ecological policy shall be as follows: (a) consideration of totality and interrelationship of all environmental components; (b) reduction of negative environmental impact; (c) preferential use of renewable energy sources; and (d) reliability and openness of ecological information.
