This Regional Law enters into force on the date of its official publication.
Abstract

This Regional Law regulates waste management originating either from domestic or from non-domestic sources and establishes plenary powers of state bodies in the sphere of waste management. Basic principles of waste management shall be as follows: (a) protection and rational management of natural resources as pre-requisite for ensuring favourable environment and environmental security; (b) waste prevention; (c) separate collection and recycling of waste; and (d) compensation of environmental damages caused by waste. Measures of economic stimulation of waste management shall include payment for waste disposal, reduction of waste and recycling thereof. Regional administration shall keep waste register.
