Abstract This Regional Law establishes legal grounds for organization of bee raising activity. The scope of this Regional law shall be creation of the conditions for bee raising regarding honey bees (Apis mellifera), use thereof for pollination of agricultural entomophilous plants, obtaining apiculture products, protection of honey bees, improvement of apiculture efficiency and safeguarding rights and legal interests of natural and legal persons carrying out bee raising activity, and also protection of consumers of apiculture products. The scope of this Regional Law shall be: (a) creation of conditions for raising, keeping of honey bees and use thereof for pollination of entomophilous plants with a view of raising crop productivity; (b) raising manufacturing of apiculture products; and (c) protection of honey bees (art. 2). Number of bee families owned by natural and legal persons shall not be subject to any limitation (art. 5). Owners of bee families and apiaries must register them and must be in possession of veterinary and sanitary certificates issued by the authorized state veterinary institution (art. 6). Natural honey and apiculture products must comply with food quality and food safety requirements and certified by state veterinary and sanitary service (art. 10).
