Abstract This Regional Law establishes organizational, legal, economic and social principles for structure and functioning of veterinary activity with a view of protection of livestock against animal diseases, output of safe animal products, fodder and fodder additives, drugs and protection of the population against diseases common to animals and human beings. State Veterinary Service shall have the following competence: (a) prevention and liquidation of infectious and mass non-infectious animal diseases; (b) guarantee of safety of food of animal origin; (c) protection of the population against diseases common to animals and human beings; and (d) protection of regional territory against introduction of infectious animal diseases from neighbouring regions.
