Abstract This Regional Law establishes the main directions of the activity of regional state bodies for ensuring food security. The fundamental tasks of the regional authorities shall be to ensure food security and to ensure the necessary level of regional food production. The basic tasks in the sphere of food security shall be: (a) timely forecast, identification and prevention of food security risks; (b) sustainable promotion of processing and manufacturing of agricultural commodities and foodstuffs on the regional territory and formation of food reserves; (c) economic accessibility of foodstuffs for every citizen within amount and assortment complying with the established rational nutritional norms; and (d) ensuring safety of foodstuffs.
