Abstract This Regional Law establishes legal grounds for industrial and consumer waste management and it is aimed at prevention of negative environmental impact by waste and maximum recycling of waste. The basic purposes of this regional Law shall be as follows: (a) prevention of negative impact of waste upon environment and human health; (b) saving of natural resources; (c) waste prevention; and (d) creation of ecofriendly processes and ecofriendly technologies, and recycling of waste. Management of biological waste, including collection, transportation and treatment thereof shall be regulated by veterinary, sanitary and ecological rules and regulations. Hazardous waste shall be subject to mandatory preventive treatment.
