Abstract This Regional Law establishes legal grounds for raising and keeping of honey bees (Apis mellifera), use thereof for obtaining apiculture products. The scope of this Regional Law shall be: (a) creation of conditions for raising, keeping of honey bees and use thereof for pollination of entomophilous plants with a view of raising crop productivity; (b) raising manufacturing of apiculture products; (c) protection of honey bees; and (d) protection of rights and interests of natural and legal persons carrying out apiculture (Arts. 1-2).Apiaries shall be subject to compulsory registration and sanitary and veterinary certification (Arts. 9-10). Trade of apiculture products shall be authorized in the presence of veterinary and quality compliance certificates.
