Abstract

This Regional Law regulates legal relations in the sphere of industrial and domestic waste management and waste disposal with a view of reduction of negative environmental impact of waste and recycling thereof. It classifies waste by hazardousness in five categories: (a) extremely hazardous waste; (b) highly hazardous waste; (c) moderately hazardous waste; (d) lowly hazardous waste; and (e) practically harmless waste. Limits for waste disposal shall be set forth in accordance with maximum allowable limits of environmental impact. In case of violation of established limits for waste disposal economic activities of individual entrepreneurs and legal persons that commit such offences can be restricted, suspended or stopped in accordance with the acting legislation.
