Abstract This Regional Law regulates relations originating from bee raising, keeping honey bees, processing of apiculture products, protection of honey bees and protection of legal rights and interests of natural and legal persons carrying out apiculture activity. The scope of this Regional Law shall be to create conditions for bee raising in order to raise productivity thereof, promote apiculture products and to protect honey bees (art. 3). Beekeepers shall be granted the following rights: (a) to place stationary apiaries on land plots owned or leased thereby; (b) to place non-stationary (mobile) apiaries on other land plots in accordance with written consent given by owners, lease-holders or tenants of the aforesaid plots of land; (c) obtain state support for the promotion of apiculture; (d) obtain veterinary assistance for the prevention of bee diseases and cure of bees; (e) obtain from state bodies information related to potential hazards to bees; and (f) constitute beekeepers’ associations (art. 6).
