Abstract

State nature zoological reserve “Zaporozhsko-Tamansky” has a biological (zoological) profile and is intended for the preservation, restoration, reproduction of wild fauna species and habitats thereof, primarily rare and endangered wild fauna species, classified as game, inserted in the national and regional Red Books. The reserve is formed for an unlimited period of time and without expropriation of land plots from tenants, owners and managers of land plots. The objectives of the reserve are the conservation, restoration, reproduction of valuable wild fauna species, in particular rare and endangered wild fauna species classified as game. The following tasks are set for the reserve: (a) conservation of wild flora species and natural ecosystems, restoration of disturbed landscapes and biogeocenoses; (b) study and protection of wild fauna and wild flora species; (c) conservation of the objects of cultural heritage; and (d) creation of conditions for sustainable development of the natural potential of the region. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of the reserve: (a) all types of hunting except for regulation of the number of wild fauna species envisaged by the federal legislation; (b) stay with firearms, hunting gear and unleashed dogs; (c) collection of zoological, botanical, mineralogical and paleontological collections; (d) aviation pest and disease control measures; (e) introduction of alien species; (f) burning grass, reed-cattail thickets and stubble in the fields; (g) drainage of waterbodies; (h) destruction and harvesting of reeds; (i) exploration and mining; (j) destruction or damage of barriers, notices, stands and other information signs; (k) use of waste water as fertilizer; (l) discharge of untreated waste water to waterbodies and soil; and (m) pollution of the territory by domestic and non-domestic waste.
