The Act consists of two Titles. Part II of Title I concerns hydrogeological protection. The Regional Council shall approve intervention programmes intended for the conservation of soil and shall also delimit sample basins to perform surveys, studies and interventions for experimental purposes. Furthermore, the Regional Council shall elaborate the cadastre on water and forestry restoration works (art. 11). Part III of Title I regards the protection and improvement of sylvo-pastoralism resources. Forests are constituted by lands covered by forest trees or shrubs of natural or artificial origin, at any developing stage (art. 14, par. 1). Specialized timber cultures are not included in this definition. Such cultures, on the other hand, shall be managed in accordance with the directives given by the Regional Forestry Service (art. 14, par. 6). The restriction of forest surfaces is prohibited by article 15, without any prejudice to authorizations issued, under certain circumstances, by the Regional Council. Owners of private forests must immediately inform the Regional Forestry Administration in case of detection of pests and pathogens. Article 21 regards timber production. Forests shall be managed and used in compliance with a Forestry Rearrangement Economic Plan regularly approved, as referred to in article 23. Full text Italian Website www.regione.veneto.it
