Abstract

Nature monument of regional significance “Ravine “Big mound” and source of the river Svapa” is constituted with a view of protecting the territory of historical value, with a complex of vegetation represented by deciduous forest, forest skirts, meadows and swamps, occupying a significant area and being habitat for rare wild fauna and wild flora species of the Kursk region, including those registered in the Red Book of the Russian Federation. Nature monument has scientific, educational and aesthetic value. Authorized uses of the territory of nature monument: (a) fire-fighting, sanitary and rehabilitation and other preventive measures required to ensure fire safety and maintenance of sanitary properties of the territory; (b) performance by owners, possessors and tenants of land plots falling within the boundaries of a natural monument, of economic activity that does not lead to a violation of the conditions of wild fauna and wild flora species and the disappearance of rare and protected species; (c) scientific research, including environmental monitoring; and (d) organization of environmental education events (holding educational excursions, organization and arrangement of ecological educational and excursion trails).
