Abstract

This Regional Decree establishes common rules for artisanal and sport fishing in all regional waterbodies for personal consumption. Artisanal and sport fishing shall be authorized for natural persons free of charge or for payment of fees in common use waterbodies and in fishfarming waterbodies (in accordance with fishing permits). This Regional Decree shall be applicable either to marine fisheries (coastal zone of the Black Sea and Sea of Azov) or to inland fisheries. Underwater hunting (spearfishing) shall be classified as a form of artisanal fishing and shall be authorized without the use of self contained breathing apparatus outside water recreational areas. Maximum allowable daily quota of catch shall be 8 kg per fisherman. Artisanal and sport fishing shall be authorized all year round except for cases envisaged by this Regional Decree. This Regional Decree lists authorized and prohibited fishing gear and fishing methods and authorized and prohibited fish species for artisanal and sport fishing.
