The Regulation defines the purpose and tasks of the regional public early warning systems, the procedure for their activation and maintenance in alert. Notification of the population in emergency situations is early warning of the population - delivery of notification signals and urgent information to the population about dangers arising in the case of natural and manmade emergencies, military activities or as a consequence of the aforesaid actions and the necessity to perform protective arrangements. A warning signal is a command to carry out activities for civil protection and protection of population from emergencies, natural and man-made disasters by management bodies and forces of civil protection and unified state system of emergency prevention and mitigation of the consequences thereof, as well as for the use by the population of means and methods of protection. Emergency information about actual and forecasted hazardous natural and anthropogenic phenomena, environmental pollution, diseases that may put at risk life or health of citizens, as well as rules of conduct and methods of protection shall be immediately transmitted via the public notification system.
