This Regional Decree enters into force on the day after its publication.
Abstract

This Regional Decree estabishes sanitary controls to combat bovine spongiform encephalopaty (BSE) within the territory of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. It consists of 10 articles and 1 annex establishing protecting measures and sanitary controls in order to avoid the spreading of the aforesaid disease. It defines feedstuff originating from animal (for livestock and aquaculture purposes) and prohibites the use of this feed for animal breeding (meat, bone, blood and fat meals obtained from mammal tissue). Annex specifies conditions to be satisfied for animal fat to be used for non-ruminant breeding.
