Abstract State nature reserve of regional significance “Tumbotinsky” shall be classified as complex landscape reserve and it shall perform the following functions: (a) maintaining ecological balance; (b) preservation of natural complexes (typical and unique for the region of biocenoses, including steppe forests, floodplain oak forest, peat bogs, reservoirs of karst origin) and their components (rare species of living organisms and their habitat) in their natural state; (c) preservation, reproduction and restoration of natural resources (preservation of water protection properties of forests and swamps; protection of cranberries, hunting fauna resources). The purpose of the reserve: environment-forming, scientific (landscape, zoological, botanical), water protection, recreational, protection of the gene pool (rare species of animals and plants) and protection of the cenosis fund (typical biocenoses). The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of state nature reserve of regional significance “Tumbotinsky”: (a) privatization and sale of land; (b) construction; (c) allotment of land for gardening and horticulture; (d) exploration of subsoil and mining; (e) g) laying through the territory of communications not related to the functioning of nature monument; (f) ploughing up; (g) exploration and mining; (h) blasting operations; (i) drainage and irrigation; (j) waste disposal; (k) effluent waste water discharge in watercourses; (l) application of toxic chemicals, mineral fertilizers and plant protection means; (l) clear cutting and procurement of soft resin; (m) creation of forest plantations; (n) off road movement and parking of motor vehicles; (o) recreational and sport hunting wit the use of traps; (p) navigation on motor small-size vessels; and (q) organization of tourist camps and making fires.
