Abstract

Protected area of regional significance state nature zoological reserve “Shatrovsky” is constituted without expropriation of land plots with a view of conservation, reproduction and restoration of wild fauna species and natural habitats thereof. The reserve performs the tasks of protecting and restoring the following main wild fauna species: beaver, Eurasian red squirrel, black grouse, capercaillie, hazel grouse, badger. Under protection are other species of animals, including those not classified as hunting species, except for harmful animals. Harmful animal species (competitors and enemies of profiling species) include: gray crow, fox, wolf, raccoon dog, wild boar. The following activities are prohibited on the territory of the reserve with a view of protection and reproduction of wild fauna species: (a) hunting (except for regulation of the number of species); (b) stay with dogs without prior written permit issued by the administration of the reserve; (c) damage to biotechnical facilities, information signs and notice boards, prepared animal feed; and (d) other activities of legal entities and natural persons, which entail the death of wild animals, as well as the destruction and ruin of their habitats, nests and their natural environment. The following activities are prohibited on the territory of the reserve with a view of preservation of the natural habitat of wild fauna species: (a) deforestation in a 300-meter zone along the banks of the Iset, Borisik, Dukhovka rivers and their tributaries, all streams, oxbow lakes, lakes, as well as in places of capercaillie mating; (b) draining lakes and swamps; (c) burning vegetation; (d) making fires during the fire hazard period; (e) use of pesticides and chemical treatment of forests; (f) felling and damage to mountain ash, viburnum, bird cherry trees; and (g) pollution of the territory with household waste, industrial waste and oil products.
