Abstract This Regional Decree, consisting of 8 articles and 1 Annex, creates the Underwater Archaeological Park of Canarias on the island of Santa Maria. It regulates the authorised activities to be performed within the Underwater Archaeological Park of the Canarias Islands, in front of Praia Formosa, in Almagreira, within the Municipality of Vila do Porto, island of Santa Maria. The Archaeological Park Canarias aims to meet the objectives set out in Article 36 of Regional Legislative Decree No 27/2004/A of 24 August, as amended by Regional Legislative Decree No. 8/2006/A of 10 March. The limits of Canarias Underwater Archaeological Park are defined, on the North by the coastline on the South by 36th 56,900'N parallel to the West by the meridian 025 ° 06,070'W and East by 025° meridian 05,750'W as specified in the attached geographical map.
