Abstract

Protected natural area of regional significance “Park “Patriot” constituted with a view of conservation of objects representing the historical and cultural heritage of the city of Kursk and the Kursk region, associated with the perpetuation of the memory of the fallen in the years of the Great Patriotic War, the labor and military feat of the Soviet people, and the creation of conditions for recreation and tourism development. The natural park is an elongated from northwest to southeast narrow territory of the artificially created landscape of the park complex and includes natural and historical-cultural zones. Natural objects are represented by tree and shrub plantations, as well as flower beds distributed throughout the natural park. The natural park is a historical and cultural complex of exceptional values as a phenomenon of the historical heritage of the Kursk region, which is expressed in high level of preservation of the spatial structure of the complex and representativeness of its constituent objects, as well as in the significance of the associative-sacral content. The natural park has cultural, historical, religious, aesthetic and recreational value.
