This Regional Decree shall enter into force the day after publication.
Abstract

This Regional Decree creates the Special Protected Area of 'Ilhas Desertas' within the archipelago of Madeira in order to preserve natural ecosystem and in particular to protect monk seal (Monachus monachus). It consists of 16 articles and 1 table establishing the legal regime governing the aforementioned protected area, specifying its geographical limits, fishing restrictions and requirements to be met in order to obtain an authorization for performing fishing activity, etc. Sanctions to be paid by offenders are specified in the text.
