Abstract

This Regional Decree establishes that on state nature reserve of regional significance “The Northern coast of the Neva Bay” shall be classified as complex (landscape) protected area. The scope of constituting state nature reserve of regional significance “The Northern coast of the Neva Bay” shall be conservation and reproduction of precious natural complexes and maintaining ecological balance of the Neva Bay of the Gulf of Finland. It shall perform the following tasks: (a) conservation of natural ecosystem of coastal landscape; (b) conservation of rare broadleaved forests; (c) conservation and reproduction of biological and landscape biodiversity; and (c) ecological education and educational tourism. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of state nature reserve: (a) residential housing construction; (b) gardening, horticulture and smallholding; (c) environmental and soil pollution; (d) exploration of subsoil and mining, including soil disturbance; (e) burning of bonfires; (f) felling of forest species and timber extraction; (g) burning of vegetation; (h) waste disposal; and (i) passage and grazing of livestock.
