Abstract

The regional Red Book is an official document containing a set of information on the status, distribution, protection and restoration measures of rare and endangered species (subspecies, populations) of wild animals and wild plants and fungi living (growing) on the regional territory. The regional Red Book consists of the following sections: (a) introduction; (b) a list (systematic list) of rare and endangered species of wild animals, plants and fungi (combined into sections according to different rarity groups); (c) species descriptions, including: a) species name (Russian, Latin); b) systematic position; c) species status according to two classification systems; d) range of the species; e) distribution in the Tomsk region; f) ecology of the species; g) features of ontogenesis and renewal; h) limiting factors; i) security measures; j) sources of information; (c) illustrations; and (d) list of literary sources. Keeping the regional Red Book of the Tomsk Region includes: (a) collection and analysis of data on wild flora and fauna species listed and recommended for inclusion in the regional Red Book; (b) creation and maintenance of a data bank on the objects of wild flora and fauna listed in the regional Red Book, on modern data storage media; (c) entry in the prescribed manner in the regional Red Book (or exclusion from it) of one or another wild fauna and wild flora species;(d) preparation for publication, publication and distribution of the regional Red Book; (e) monitoring the state of wild flora and wild fauna species listed in the regional Red Book and their habitat; (f) preparation and implementation of proposals for special protection measures, including the organization of protected natural areas and the creation of genetic banks in order to preserve wild flora and wild fauna species listed in the regional Red Book; and (g) registration of legal entities and individuals involved in the maintenance and breeding of wild flora and wild fauna species listed in the regional Red Book. The publication of the regional Red Book is carried out once every 10 years.
