Abstract

The purpose of constituting nature monument of regional significance “Left bank of the river Kamyshenka near the village of Yekaterinovka" is the protection of the complex of steppe vegetation, which occupies a significant area and is the habitat of rare species of wild flora and wild fauna of the Kursk region, including those listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation. The nature monument has scientific, educational and aesthetic value. Authorized uses of the territory of nature monument that shall not lead to the destruction and degradation of biocenoses: (a) fire-fighting, sanitary and other preventive measures necessary to ensure fire safety and maintain the sanitary properties of the territory of the nature monument; (b) the use of biological measures to control forest pests; (c) nesting arrangements for birds; (d) scientific research, including ecological monitoring; and (e) educational activities.
