Abstract

The Lazio Region promotes the improvement and development of rabbit farming as well as the expanding of related trade and scientific research activities. To this end, the regional authority shall provide directly or grant subsidies and financial resources intended to carry out experimentation and research in matter of rabbit species, farming techniques and artificial fertilization issues. Rabbit farmers (as defined by article 4) shall be the beneficiaries of the subsidies specified by article 3. The Region shall recognize rabbit farmers' associations which meet the minimum requirements prescribed under Regional Act No. 60 of 17 September 1984 and subsequent amendments. Article 7 refers to the establishment of the Regional Counsel on Rabbits under the competent Regional Counsel of Agriculture. The former shall exercise the functions defined by article 8. In addition, the municipal administrations shall perform inspections and sanitary checks on rabbit farms. In case of detection or suspect of any of the diseases described by article 9, paragraph 2 farmers must immediately inform the Mayor of the competent Commune.
