For this purpose the Region will implement a Regional Forestry Plan, improve and conserve existing degraded and destroyed forests, conserve and protect forests; assess hydrogeological resources and protect rivers; promote fire-fighting activities and construct new infrastructures. Further the Act sets out detailed provisions for the actions to be taken and for the management of forests. Article 13 is concerned with phytosanitary protection, whilst article 14 deals with the protection of forests against fires.
