The regional phytosanitary service shall carry out checks on plants and plant products which have been produced within the regional territory and are destined to other European Community countries or to export to third countries. Checks shall be carried out on imported plant and plant products (art. 2). Further tasks of the regional phytosanitary service are defined by article 3. A regional authorization, to be issued in compliance with the procedure described under article 7, shall be compulsory for the production and marketing of plants and plant products (art. 6).
