The Region shall contribute to the dissemination of information dealing with the environmental and ecological protection. Article 3 prohibits the abandonment of waste in sandbanks, lakes, shores of rivers and water courses, pastures, woodlands and forests. The President of the Region shall define by Decree those areas in which endangered flora species shall be particularly protected. In such areas, the gathering and extirpation of flora shall be forbidden, without any prejudice to special Decrees that may be enacted to authorize the gathering for scientific purposes. Article 12 lays down penalties.
