There are hereby established rules governing: (a) the production and placing on the market of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), in accordance with the precautionary principle; (b) the promotion of typical, first-quality and organic agriucltural products. Article 2 prohibits the production and cultivation of species which contain GMOs. Foodstuffs containing GMOs may be placed on the regional market only if they comply with the labelling requirements prescribed by article 4. Article 10 establishes administrative sanctions.
