The Act aims in particular at supporting the development of agriculture both from a social and economic point of view, by ensuring at the same time the protection of the environment and natural resources. The Regional Council is charged with the delimitation of rural districts (art. 9) and the setting up of an information system (art. 10). Further provisions regard aids and subsidies, to be granted in accordance with the priorities specified in article 20. Article 36 establishes a special fund destined to particular programmes involved in the preservation of the environment.
